As fix begins, worldwide BlackBerry users still have problems – Computerworld

BlackBerry users Wednesday reported that problems are continuing into a third day in Europe and Asia, after Research in Motion reported on Tuesday that a fix was underway.

And for the first time, BlackBerry service slowed in North America today, according to a tweet from 680 News in Toronto shortly after 7 a.m. EDT. Others in North America tweeted BlackBerry Messenger service was down.

How to Sync Your Google+ Posts with Facebook and Twitter

Install Google+ Chrome Extensions

There are some great Google+ Chrome extensions that will let you cross-post to Facebook, Twitter, and other social network streams.

The most useful one I found is Start G+. In addition to sharing your posts to Facebook and Twitter, you can also view your Facebook and Twitter streams inside your Google+ stream. This way, you never have to log back into Facebook or Twitter again, and you can keep up with all of your major social networks.

Other Google+ Chrome extensions let you cross-post by adding a small button to each of your posts, so when you compose a post, you can click on a Facebook or Twitter button. Share+ supports Identi.ca, Ping.fm, Reddit, FriendFeed, Tumblr, Posterous, MySpace, Delicious, WordPress. ExtendedShare supports Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tumblr, and Identi.ca. G+Tweet, Google+Tweet and ManageFlitter all let you share your posts directly to Twitter.

Post to Your Blog

If you’re the type to write long essays in your Google+ posts, you may be interested in cross-posting them to your blog. Fortunately, doing this is pretty simple. Just create an RSS feed of your public Google+ posts using PlusFeed.

All you have to do is grab your Google profile user ID number, which is the long string of numbers after https://plus.google.com, and add it to the PlusFeed URL: http://plusfeed.appspot.com. If you have a WordPress account, use the Lifestream plug-in, and add your feed to the Generic feed settings. Then your posts will now show up in WordPress.

Post to Social Networks Through Google+

These two methods are a bit of a cheat, but they definitely do the trick.

Add +Rob McGee

Add Google+ user +Rob McGee to its own circle.

Go to http://gplus.sagg.im/, and log in with your Facebook/Twitter/Identi.ca account.

You’ll receive an authentication string.

Post this string to your stream and share it only with +Rob McGee

To sync posts to your social networks, just share with +Rob McGee.

LulzSec hackers sets up hotline for attacks | Reuters

The Lulz Security group of hackers behind recent attacks on Sony, the U.S. Senate and News Corp, said in a Tweet that it has set up a telephone hotline for suggestions on targets.

LulzSec Tweeted the number on Wednesday, urging its more than 150,000 followers to help it strategize.

When Reuters dialed the number, it was hosted by an answering machine.

“We are not available right now as we are busy raping your Internet. Leave a message and we will get back to you whenever we feel like,” said a voice-mail answering machine at 614-LULZSEC.

Twitter Business Center Ushers Customer Service into the Age of Engagement

As the social media phenomenon continues to guide and enrich web engagement strategies, more and more companies are responding with holistic touch points for their customers. Twitter’s rendition, called the Twitter Business Center, allows businesses to interact with their customers even if they're not following them.

Features Coming Soon…

Don’t get too excited just yet—Twitter’s business center is still in beta. Presently only a few chosen companies are able to enjoy the new features, which include:

Contributors Tab: The Contributors tab will streamline the tweeting process by enabling multiple users to access the account and tweet on the company’s behalf.

Verified Business Accounts: Previously only available to individuals, Verified Twitter accounts aim to assist in building trust between businesses and their customers. Now consumers won’t have to wonder whether the company they’re interacting with on Twitter is really the company, or just someone pretending to be affiliated with them.

DM Customers You’re Not Following: This is the biggie, especially for businesses with a large audience on the micro-blogging platform. Without requiring followership in order to communicate privately, Twitter is expanding the number of opportunities for interaction. Customers will be able to build a rapport with the brands they care about, and businesses can conduct customer service without it being in the full view of the public.

The feature is optional, of course, so if for any reason you’d rather not have customers contacting you directly, you don’t have to.
